A group of four documents awarded to Uffz. OTTO BINDER who served with Gren, Rgt. 502 of the 290. Inf. Div. The citations comprise of the Iron Cross 1st class and Iron cross 2nd class both signed by Lt. Gen. Conrad-Oskar Heinrichs (Ritterkreuz winner 13-9-41). There is a letter by his Comp. CO announcing the award of the EK1 and his promotion to candidate officer, this sent to his home on the 21-1-44, also a letter from a comrade congratulating him on his award of the 1st class EK and informing him of the situation of the unit. Binder won the EK1 only two weeks after being awarded his EK 2 so he must have done something heroic to warrant this. All in VG+++ condition. |
