L2 A small but rare silvered metal emblem known as “Fatimas Hand”. This was the emblem of the Free Arabia or Sonderverband 288 that fought with the German army in the middle east. Sonderverband 288 was a special unit and part of the 90th light Afrika division made up of three battalions, two Germans and one Arab. The two German ones were composed of ethnic Germans from Palestine and East Africa and Spain etc. The Arabs were from north Africa and all were employed on special duties and were considered a pseudo commando unit. The item is in the form of an open hand with a cut out swastika in the palm. The item is in the form of a small banner or pole top or possible car pennant top.
